Whirlpool is also known as “Windblown Star.” We know this block has been coming around at least since the 1700’s, as it was found in a quilt in Maine in 1778. It is made from half square triangles and has endless possibilities. The pattern includes directions to make the block, a diagram to use to audition your own colors, and ideas of quilts to make from the block.
